She has extensive clinical nursing experience in a variety of specialty areas, intensive Care/Critical Care, Oncology, Liver/Lung Transplant, Organ Donation, Rural Emergency, and has also worked as Nurse Educator in the following areas: Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, OR, and Rural Emergency and Acute Care. Kelly is a Certified Instructor with Heart and Stroke with the following areas: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS). She also has her Emergency Practices in Care Canada Facilitator - pending.

Kelly is a Certified Speaker Trainer and Coach with the John Maxwell Team and is a founding partner with Avante Leadership Consulting Ltd.

Kelly believes that dynamic instruction and simulation training builds confidence, competence and creates high performing teams in stressful situations. She has taught a hundreds of nursing sessions on a variety of topics, including EKG, ABG's, Code Blue, Resiliency, mental health, conflict, de-escalation, nurse mentorship, and leadership development to name a few.

She is an active member with the Association of Regulated Nurse of Manitoba as the Chair of the Professional Development Committee, served on multiple committees, and was part of the creation of a simulation-based curriculum for training the clinical nurse on the recognition of the deteriorating patient.
