Acute Cardiac Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital

• Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intensive care for conditions which is cardiac in origin and COVID 19. The most common cardiac conditions are Acute Coronary Syndrome, Congestive Heart Failure and Recurrent/ Malignant dysrhythmia.

• Performs continuous invasive hemodynamic monitoring e.g., ECG, arterial line, CVP, PA Catheter, IABP, and Impella devices.

• Assists with internal and external cardiac pacing, cardioversion, and emergency resuscitation.

• Manages artificial airways and mechanically ventilated patients.

• Administers pharmacological interventions and titrates medications appropriately including thrombolytic agents, vasoactive, inotropic, and antiarrhythmic drugs.

• Operates Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).

• Provide quality care to patient who is acutely ill, including exacerbation of chronic illness, requiring general medical care and intervention to maintain physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well-being.
